Since opening in 1942, Henton Plumbing and Air Conditioning, Inc. has worked hard to provide excellent home comfort services to customers in Manhattan, Kansas and the surrounding communities. Our team continues to take pride in supplying reliable, efficient and cost-effective plumbing, heating and air conditioning services to residents and small businesses across the Flint Hills.

Eighty-plus years in the same town means something specific: we have worked on a lot of these houses before. The 1920s bungalows near campus, the 1960s ranches out east, the newer builds north of town — each has its own habits, and a technician who has seen them all diagnoses faster.

Measure, don’t guess
Static pressure, superheat, temperature rise, combustion analysis. A diagnosis built on numbers survives the drive home; one built on a hunch does not.
Price before tools
You hear the fault, the options and the figure before anything is dismantled. If the honest answer is “replace, don’t repair”, we say that too.
Safety is not optional
Every furnace we touch gets a combustion and carbon monoxide check. Every gas connection gets leak-tested. Every time, not only when asked.
Leave it clean
Drop cloths on the floor, old equipment out to the truck, and the mechanical room tidier than we found it. It is your house, not a job site.

Henton Plumbing and Air Conditioning, Inc. offers emergency services for customers who need assistance outside business hours. This comes at an additional charge on weekday evenings and at weekends, and we confirm the applicable rate with you on the phone before we dispatch a technician.

Questions we get asked most
Yes. Our office is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and a technician is on call the rest of the time. Emergency work is billed at a premium rate: time-and-a-half on weekday evenings and Saturdays, and double time on Sundays and holidays. We will tell you which rate applies before we dispatch, so there is no surprise on the invoice.
We cover Manhattan and the surrounding Flint Hills communities, including Wamego, St. George, Ogden, Riley, Leonardville, Randolph and Junction City. If you are outside that ring, call us anyway — we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you in a reasonable time or refer you to someone closer.
A standard diagnostic visit during business hours covers the trip and up to the first hour of troubleshooting. Once the technician has identified the fault they will quote the repair before doing the work. You always approve the price before we pick up a tool. Our estimator on this page gives a realistic range for common jobs.
For $119 per year we perform two scheduled visits: a spring air-conditioning service and a fall furnace service. Each visit is a full tune-up, not a quick look — electrical measurements, refrigerant or combustion checks, cleaning, and a written report. Agreement holders also receive priority scheduling during heat waves and cold snaps.
No. Consultations and written estimates on new heating, cooling and water-heating equipment are free. We measure the house, run a load calculation and give you two or three options at different price points, with the efficiency ratings and warranty terms in writing.
